Midwest Forage Association
Dairy, beef, and hay farmers, as well as custom operators and nutrient applicators, should mark their calendars for the 2021 Symposium, held this year in the comfort of your home or office. Due to the pandemic, this year’s Symposium will be held online, but offers the same valuable educational sessions which you’ve come to expect.

The Midwest Forage Association (MFA) and the Professional Nutrient Applicators of Wisconsin (PNAAW) have put together nearly 30 live educational workshops sure to pique your interest, as well as a virtual trade show featuring many of our same exhibitors. Scheduled for February 16-17, attendees can attend educational sessions “live” and will be able to talk with speakers directly or chat with exhibitors in the exhibit hall. Symposium registrants will be able to view the recorded sessions on-demand following the Symposium for up to three months.

The event features an impressive lineup of university, industry, agency, and farmer speakers who will be discussing topics MFA and PNAAW members have identified as being the most timely and relevant to their operations. Highlights include:

  • Using Manure to Meet the Nutrient Needs of Alfalfa
  • Growing & Feeding Alfalfa-Grass Mixtures
  • What’s New in Mergers
  • Building Connections Between Livestock & Crop Farmers
  • Carrying Your Farm on a Hitch Pin
  • Let’s Talk Fungicides on Alfalfa & Silage Corn
  • Seeding Success: Practical Considerations for Improving Alfalfa Establishment
  • Protecting Your Dairy from Price Risk
  • Much, much, more

We’re pleased to have the “unstuck guy,” Fred Whitford, returning for a keynote session. In addition to having his famous “Pulling Out Stuck Equipment Safely” session on-demand, on Tuesday he will be addressing Symposium attendees live on “Lessons Learned from Truck Accidents.” The 2021 Symposium will also feature University of Wisconsin-Extension Manure Applicator Training 101 which will take place the afternoon of Wednesday, February 17, and is just $5 for participants who register for the Symposium.
