Hay & Forage Grower is pleased to announce that Kassidy Buse has joined the team as our 2018 summer editorial intern. Buse, who graduated from Iowa State University earlier this month, will attend graduate school at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln next fall where she will focus on ruminant nutrition.

While at Iowa State, Buse majored in animal science with a minor in business. She grew up helping on her family’s dairy farm in Bridgewater, S.D., and during her time in college has been active in a number of activities.

Buse was a student blogger for CycloneLife.net, served as an undergraduate teaching and research assistant, was active in Dairy Science Club, and had strong involvement in Lutheran Campus Ministries. Most recently, she was a member of Iowa State’s winning Dairy Challenge Team that competed in the North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge in Visalia, Calif.

Last summer, Buse was an agronomy intern for an Iowa crop production firm. She scouted fields for crop pest pressure and worked with growers to mitigate any problems. Previously, she also served two summers as the 4-H assistant in Turner County, S.D.

While interning at Hay & Forage Grower, Buse will provide editorial content and aid in the production of eHay Weekly. She will also write feature articles for the magazine, contribute to our photo database, and be actively involved in posting content to our various social media and website platforms.
